The Cardiff roadshow was the first of four cooking demonstrations, and it proved to be a big hit with people of all ages. Alan Coxon and the Potato Council had their work cut out after a PCL survey showed that 4 in 10 people under the age of 30 are unable to cook a simple potato dish. These findings were featured in many of the national newspapers as well as GMTV, BBC Breakfast, Sky News and Channel 5. The roadshows were planned with the intention to reinstate the potato into the meal repetoire of people under the age of thirty, viewers were reminded of the convenience and taste benefits of the great British staple as Alan Coxon offered them the chance to try some of his delicious dishes.
