Fresh and delicious British new season potatoes are being harvested across the country now, and some of the top chefs in London have thrown their support behind the crop.
Deliveries of freshly harvested new potatoes from Suffolk arrived at The Ritz, Hix Oyster and Chop House, and Rivington, as well as being sent directly to Antony Worrall Thompson. Each chef inspected the crop and gave it their seal of approval in respect of quality, taste and freshness.
Sourcing good quality, seasonal British produce is vital for chefs and new potatoes, with their versatility and unique taste and texture, are an essential part of spring and summer menus.
The potatoes were delivered as part of Potato Council's ‘Love Potatoes' summer campaign to encourage greater awareness of the seasonality and benefits of potatoes. The potatoes were delivered courtesy of James Foskett Farms and Greenvale AP.
