Yes - thats how I cook mine- use corn oil - heat the fat to smoking and put in the potatoes - toss them on the hob and then put into the oven and then turn once more

Always do my roast potatoes like this , put the parr boiled tatties into smoking hot beef dripping (not lard or cooking oil) and cook until crisp ..
absolutely bosting , try goose fat aswell , and cook ya chips in beef dripping , just like ya great granny used to do , no good for ya health , but better than sex when cooked .

My mother made perfect roast potatoes but since she died over two years I have not had them, finally made my own using this receipe and they are just fabulous, perfect for the Sunday Dinner!
