Potatoes in our diet

The official nutrition survey of the UK, the National Diet and Nutrition Survey (NDNS), is designed to assess the diet and nutrient intake of the general UK population. This indicates that potatoes currently make useful contributions to an adult’s average daily intake of fibre, potassium, vitamin B6, vitamin C, thiamin (vitamin B1) and folate. These are all essential nutrients that our bodies need to work properly.
